Guard Civil officers in Formentera have arrested a 22-year-old man as the alleged perpetrator of an assault. The incident occurred in the early hours of yesterday morning, when the Guardia Civil received a report of an altercation between several individuals on Calle Major de Sant Ferran. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found three men with bleeding wounds.

According to the victims’ testimony, the injuries were caused by a fourth individual who used an air gun following an argument. Due to the severity of the injuries, one of the victims was taken to Formentera Hospital, a second victim was transferred to Can Misses Hospital (Ibiza) and the third person involved received treatment for minor injuries.

After attending to the injured, the Guardia Civil organised a search of the surrounding area to locate the suspect. The perpetrator was intercepted and arrested shortly afterwards in the area.

Although he was not carrying the weapon at the time of his arrest, officers carried out a search of the adjacent streets and managed to recover the air pistol, which had been discarded by the suspect as he fled. Both the alleged perpetrator and the injured parties are of North African origin. The case has been referred to the courts.
