La Fortalesa in Pollensa, one of the island’s most exclusive and recognisable landmarks, is currently hosting the filming of MobLand, a Paramount+ drama series starring Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan — three leading figures in film and television. Part of the first series of the hugely successful BBC1 series, The Night Manager, was filmed at Sa Fortaleza.
The production team is already working on the island, and filming at this iconic Mallorcan site is expected to last for approximately a week. For the time being, it is unclear whether the lead actors have already arrived in Mallorca or whether their presence is scheduled for the coming days, a detail the production is keeping under the usual discretion that surrounds this type of international project.
While the production remains largely under wraps, an Instagram story posted by Mandeep Dhillon, who plays Seraphina Harrigan — the daughter of Conrad Harrigan (Pierce Brosnan) from an extramarital relationship with an exotic dancer — shows goats crossing a road in an area resembling Pollensa, hinting that some cast members may already be on the island.
The choice of La Fortalesa in Pollensa is no coincidence. This historic complex, located on a peninsula between the Bay of Pollensa and the open sea, offers a unique architectural and natural setting. Its walls, courtyards and sweeping views of the Mediterranean make it a visually striking location, ideal for a series such as MobLand — a crime drama created by Ronan Bennett and co-written with Jez Butterworth, with key episodes directed by Guy Ritchie, who also serves as executive producer. The series delves into the world of organised crime, power struggles and conflicts between major clans, themes that align perfectly with the dramatic character of the location.
This is not the first time the Mallorcan enclave has been transformed into a film set for a major production. Paramount+’s spy thriller Lioness — created by Taylor Sheridan and centred on a CIA undercover programme following female operatives as they work to thwart terrorist threats — was filmed at La Fortalesa, starring a high‑profile cast including Zoe Saldaña and Nicole Kidman. The site has also hosted other major productions, such as The Night Manager, the acclaimed international miniseries starring Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie, which helped project the image of Mallorca to millions of viewers worldwide, and the Netflix series Turn Up Charlie, starring Idris Elba. These projects have cemented the island’s appeal for high‑profile international productions and kept Mallorca firmly on the radar of global audiences.
