The alarm bells are definitely ringing in Britain over Majorca's water crisis. Yesterday we received a telephone call from BBC Radio Birmingham who said that a listener had rung in to say that her travel agent had informed her not to go to Majorca because there was no water. On Monday the producer of the Sky 1 competition Prickly Heat, which is filmed every year on Magalluf beach, telephoned us with a similar report. They were planning to take the competition to another tourist destination because they didn't want to bring out hundreds of litres of bottled water from Britain. The message from the local authorities is that there is an adequate supply for this summer and hopefullly there will be more rain.
