Magalluf clean up

Dear Sir,

My husband and I have enjoyed numerous holidays in Magalluf over many years so have of course been following the news, good and bad, on the area thanks to your newspaper and not through the hysterical ramblings of the UK press.

Everyone knows that something needs to be done to bring back some dignity to the area and to hopefully make Magalluf not only a first rate place to spend a holiday but also a pleasant place to both live, work and bring up children for the local population.

The resorts of both Magalluf and Palma Nova have so much going for them, from the close proximity to the airport, pretty beaches, good transport links and warm friendly people, I could go on but I think I have made my point. All in all it is the perfect location with all the right ingredients to make it a must go to'  family holiday venue. My only worry with the proposed 'clean up' is that it may lose it identity and become too sanitized and anonymous, just another glossy page in a holiday brochure. Clean it up yes but make sure the many good bits are left intact, I don't want to feel like a stranger in a foreign land when I return for my holiday next year, I want it to feel like the home from home it always has felt like in the past

Whatever the future holds for the area I would like to say Good Luck and I send my very warmest Best Wishes to all those living with the fallout from this notorious summer.

Flights
Dear Sir,
After reading today's article on-line, I felt compelled to write to you to agree with everything said regarding flights (or no flights) direct from Scotland.

It is very frustrating and annoying that airlines can't get their act together and organise at least 1 plane from the whole of Scotland to get people to Majorca and back during the winter. My husband and I come over all the time to visit family (we were over last month) and I would love to see my brand new cousin, Pau, before next summer! At this rate he'll be walking before I see him!

My husband and I hunted for flights last night and the best way is through Stansted but it would take us 6 1/2 hours to get to Majorca! Half the holiday would be finished!

Anyway, that's enough of my ranting and fingers crossed that one day soon there will be direct winter flights from Scotland.

Cheers for now and keep up the good work on the Bulletin.

Winter Flights
Dear Sir,
It really is a sad situation. I have to visit UK regularly now to be with my elderly parents and
this time to return at the end of November was a big problem. Normally fly to Birmingham but
am having to go via Gatwick and return from Liverpool. Luckily I have family in different areas
so make the most of the time but it needs a lot of travelling within UK and a lot of planning.
Surely a flight once or twice a week from Birmingham would be supported.
Majorca could be a Winter Getaway like Porto. We visited in late September and it was heaving.
Palma has a lot to offer but if there are no flights who is going to come?

Winter flights
Dear Sir,
Surely if the market for winter flights between the UK and Majorca is viable then why are the Spanish airlines not doing their bit and offering the service?

‘Illes Balears’
Dear Sir,
Somebody should tell Jaime Martinez that most Sun and Daily Mirror readers, along with most of the people of the UK will not have a clue where ‘Illes Balears’ are, yet another home goal, and to think that they get paid for it.
You might also ask him what ‘Always on’ means.
