easyJet and easyJet Holidays have launched a ‘Book with Confidence Promise’ to reassure uncertain customers that their summer holidays are safe, following the airlines busiest Easter holiday period on record with the number of customers travelling with easyJet Holidays up by more than a fifth.

The airline and holidays company has pledged that the cost of flights and packages will stay fixed once a booking is confirmed and that customers will never experience any fare increases after booking. In addition, the airline has confirmed that it intends to run a full schedule across its network at a time when some competitors have cut thousands of planned flights. The airline is due to fly more than 50 million passengers during the summer season.

The commitment to continue delivering customers’ hard-earned holidays comes as the industry is seeing later bookings amidst heightened uncertainty. However, this has created a “the best time to book” according to travel expert Lisa Minot, with prices lower than usual for some destinations and packages.

easyJet Holidays also enables customers to cancel up to 60 days before travel, with any deposit returned as easyJet holidays credit to put towards another trip of their choice. Any instalments made over-and-above the deposit will be refunded in full through to 28 days before take-off.

Kenton Jarvis, CEO at easyJet said: “We understand that global events may affect travellers’ confidence at the moment, but we believe that everyone has a right to book their flights and holidays with confidence. That’s why we’re launching our ‘Book with Confidence Promise’. Our customers won’t be charged any more after they book, including no fuel surcharges, and package holidays customers can continue to benefit from Ultimate Flexibility when they book with easyJet Holidays.”

easyJet Holidays CEO Garry Wilson said: “Our operations remain unaffected, so customers can be confident that not only will their holiday go ahead as planned, but there will be no surprise extra payments. Now is an ideal time to book and take advantage of a range of brilliant holidays at unbeatable prices with the added security that ‘Ultimate Flexibility’ also allows customers to change their plans with ease if required.”

Lisa Minot, Travel Expert and Head of Travel for The Sun newspaper, said: “It’s understandable that the conflict in the Middle East has led to some pausing their summer holiday planning. But now is probably the best time to lock in a trip - using an ATOL-protected package tour operator like easyJet holidays. With the reassurance that whether you have booked a flight or a package holiday - your trip’s cost won’t rise before you fly, and with the extra protection you get when booking a package, it makes sense to book those holidays.

“Holidaymakers are showing interest in Western Mediterranean destinations like Spain, Portugal and Italy but for real value this summer, the Eastern Med is the place to go. Holidays to Turkey, Greece, Cyprus and Egypt are very keenly priced right now and still offer the same amazing trips they always have.”
