Palma legendary nightclub makes a rooftop comeback

The revamped MarSalada will serve as a brasserie-style restaurant throughout the day and early evening, before transforming into a lively nightclub once dinner service concludes

The iconic MarSalada nightclub is entering the final countdown to its much-anticipated reopening, this time with a fresh coastal aesthetic and an elevated new home. Once nestled beneath the Club de Mar, the venue is moving to the rooftop of one of the marina’s newest buildings, now nearing completion. According to José Luis Arrom, director of the Club de Mar, doors are expected to open in February, with the official launch celebration planned for April.

Designed to accommodate more than 700 guests, the reinvented MarSalada will operate as a brasserie-style restaurant by day and early evening before transforming into a vibrant nightclub after dinner service. At the helm of the project are seasoned entrepreneurs Juan Carlos ‘Nono’ Oliver and Pedro Marrero, who promise to revive the legendary spirit that once defined Palma’s nightlife.

The venue spans an impressive 570 square metres indoors, complemented by a 270-square-metre terrace offering open-air dining and views across the port. “We want to bring back the essence of MarSalada,” says ‘Nono’ Oliver, recalling the club’s glory days along the Paseo Maritimo, where it reigned as a nightlife institution for decades.

Inside, a circular dance floor will take centre stage, with the DJ booth positioned in the middle to create a fully immersive party atmosphere. The concept, Oliver explains, is focused on quality over quantity, appealing primarily to a stylish crowd aged between 30 and 50. The new MarSalada promises a refined yet lively experience designed to capture the sophistication of Palma’s evolving social scene.

Beyond fine dining and music, guests can expect a full calendar of live performances and special events. The venue will operate from May to October, closing briefly before reopening in December for the festive season, hosting Christmas parties and corporate celebrations. During its off-season, one exclusive, invitation-only event will take place each month — a fitting touch for a club preparing to reclaim its place at the heart of Palma’s nightlife.
