US President Donald Trump will be the guest of honour at the America Business Forum (ABF) on 5 November in Miami, alongside figures such as footballer Lionel Messi, Mallorcan tennis player Rafael Nadal, actor Will Smith and FIFA president Gianni Infantino.
The organisers of the event, which originated in Uruguay and will be held for the first time in the United States with an estimated 30,000 attendees, announced on Wednesday that the president will attend the meeting, which will be held at the Kaseya Centre in downtown Miami.
‘A new voice joins the global leadership stage. President Donald J. Trump will participate in the America Business Forum Miami 2025, alongside figures such as Lionel Messi, Jamie Dimon (chairman and chief executive officer of JPMorgan Chase) and Gianni Infantino,’ ABF said on LinkedIn.
Trump’s attendance is significant because the Kaseya Center is directly opposite Miami’s Freedom Tower, next to which is the land that the Florida government donated last week for the construction of the president’s official presidential library. The forum will bring together leaders from the worlds of sport and business, such as Formula 1 president and CEO Stefano Domenicali; Citadel founder and CEO Kenneth Griffin; WeWork founder Adam Neumann; and entrepreneur Eric Schmidt, former CEO of Google.
‘This November, Miami will become the meeting point for leaders who are defining the future of business, sport and culture,’ said the organisation, which has held nine meetings since 2017.
The event reflects the political relevance that this city in South Florida has acquired, as just last month Trump announced that the G20 summit will be held at a resort he owns in Doral, in the Miami metropolitan area, the first time the United States has hosted the event in about two decades.
In fact, the chairman of the ABF board is Miami Mayor Francis Suárez, who has also been one of the main drivers behind bringing the G20 summit and Trump’s presidential library to the city.
And Nadal and Trump share at least one thing in common, they are both huge golf players so perhaps they may share a few tips.
Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, who is president of the Board of America Business Forum, said the summit’s lineup of speakers and presenters is an “eclectic mixture” that appeals to a broad audience and also speaks to the diversity of economy in Miami and South Florida.
“It is an eclectic mixture of people that touches on everybody’s interest,“ he said. “It’s not just a sports conference. It’s not just an entertainment conference. It’s not just a business conference or a political conference. It’s everything. It touches upon all of the different areas of human interest. And I think that’s what makes it special.”
