By Saturday evening, ten bundles of hashish had been recovered by police and the Guardia Civil in the Calvia and Andratx areas, all of them from what it is believed to have been a landing that failed because of rough weather - the bundles fell from a boat into the sea.
Each weighing approximately 40 kilos, the Guardia Civil estimate the value of the ten bundles to be around one million euros.
A priority is to locate the two people who took some of the hash from Caló d'en Pellicer beach in Santa Ponsa on Saturday morning. They had parked a van next to the beach.
Initial reports on Saturday suggested that the owner of a catamaran that had been pushed onto the beach during the storm found four bundles under the vessel. Local residents say that there were two and that the people with the van hadn't just ripped bundles open and taken some of the hash but had in fact removed two or perhaps three whole bundles.
