German supermarket chain Lidl will expand its kitchen appliance range with a launch set to transform Spanish kitchens this December. Already available in stores, customers will be able to purchase a dual-basket air fryer for just 59.99 euros, a remarkably competitive price for this type of advanced kitchen gadget. The appliance, boasting a total capacity of 8.7 litres, enables users to prepare two different dishes simultaneously, making it an ideal option for large families or those looking to maximise efficiency in the kitchen.
This model stands out for its two completely independent cooking zones that can be programmed individually, offering the possibility of preparing different foods simultaneously at varying temperatures and times.
Among its most notable features is the Sync-Finish function, which allows users to programme different dishes to complete cooking at the same time, and the Sync-Cook function, which synchronises both zones to cook identically. The powerful 2,600W heating element ensures rapid and efficient cooking, while its control system with buttons and a rotary dial makes daily use remarkably straightforward.
The kitchen appliance offers an adjustable temperature range between 60°C and 200°C, with 5°C increments for precise cooking control. Each basket has a capacity of approximately 4.35 litres, capable of holding up to 640 grams of chips per drawer, although the recommended optimal amount is 500 grams for best results. The overall dimensions of the device are 40cm long, 30cm wide and 38cm high, weighing approximately 6.7kg, making it easy to position on any kitchen worktop.
Versatility is another key strength of this model, as it incorporates six preset programmes for different culinary needs: Reheat, Dehydrate, Roast, Bake, Preheat and Air Fry. This multi-functionality allows it to replace several kitchen appliances in one, saving space and offering more cooking possibilities. Additionally, both the frying baskets and the trivets feature a high-quality non-stick coating from ILAG®, free from PFAS (perfluoroalkyl substances), ensuring cooking without the need to add additional oils or fats.
In terms of user comfort, the fryer incorporates handles that remain cool to the touch during operation, two screens to control both zones independently, non-slip feet for stability, and a cable storage system to keep the worktop tidy. A particularly practical aspect for those new to using these appliances is the inclusion of an instruction manual with 10 recipe suggestions, which will facilitate making the most of all its features from day one.
The rise of dual-basket air fryers
Air fryers have established themselves as one of the most sought-after kitchen appliances in recent years, especially for their promise of cooking crispy food with significantly reduced oil usage. According to industry data, in 2024 more than 40% of British households already owned some model of air fryer, and the trend continues to increase throughout 2025. The dual-basket model represents a further step in the evolution of these appliances, allowing greater versatility and time savings. The package includes the hot air fryer, two frying baskets with inserts and trivets, plus the instruction manual with the aforementioned recipes.
As is often the case with Lidl's most popular special buy products, stock is likely to be limited and sell out quickly, so interested customers should be alert to the launch date. At 59.99 euros, this model positions itself in a very competitive segment of the market, especially considering that similar dual-basket air fryers from specialised brands can reach prices exceeding £100.
Advantages of dual-basket technology
Dual-compartment air fryers represent a significant evolution compared to conventional single-basket models. The main advantage lies in the possibility of simultaneously cooking two different foods at different temperatures and times, something especially useful for preparing complete meals without having to cook in batches. This not only saves time but also contributes to all components of a meal being ready at the same time, maintaining the ideal temperature for consumption. In the specific case of the model that Lidl will market in December, the Sync-Finish function represents a particularly practical innovation, as it allows programming different times and temperatures for each compartment while synchronising completion times.
