A total of six new hotels in the Balearics have obtained their first Michelin Key, which were awarded in the new edition of Michelin Keys 2025. The winners are Cap Menorca Relais & Chateaux in Alaior, Son Bunyola Resort and Villas in Banyalbufar which is owned by Richard Branson, Fontsanta Thermal Spa & Wellness in Campos, Rural Sant Ignasi in Ciutadella, Teranka Formentera in Es Caló de Sant Agustí and Convent de La Missió-Grand Luxury Boutique Hotel in Palma, according to a statement.

They join the twenty or so hotels in the Balearics that had already entered this category in previous editions. None of the Balearic accommodation establishments have achieved the maximum rating of three Michelin keys, but four of them do maintain two Michelin keys. These are Cap Rocat in Cala Blava, La Residencia, A Belmond Hotel in Deya, Hotel Can Cera Raxó in Palma and Hotel Can Ferrereta in Santanyí.

In total, Michelin has awarded 109 hotels in Spain with this new edition of the hotel distinction, which includes five establishments with three keys, 13 with two keys and 91 with one key, adding up to 17 new entries. This figure represents an increase of 12 in the number of hotels awarded for being ‘the most outstanding’ in the country compared to last year’s guide.

Firstly, Atrio Restaurante Hotel (Cáceres), Terra Dominicata-Hotel & Winery (Escaladei), Mandarin Oriental Ritz Madrid (Madrid), Abadía Retuerta LeDomaine (Sardón de Duero) and Torre del Marqués Hotel Spa & Winery (Teruel) received the highest award, three Michelin keys.

In the two-key category, in addition to the four Balearic establishments, there are Mandarin Oriental Barcelona, Casa Beatnik Hotel in A Coruña, Four Seasons Hotel Madrid, Rosewood Villa Magna in Madrid, Marbella Club Hotel, Hotel Pepe Vieira in Raxó, Akelarre in San Sebastián and Mas de Torrent Hotel & Spa in Torrent.

They are joined by Canfranc Estación, a Royal Hideaway Hotel, which is making its debut in this category. In this year’s global selection, Michelin has awarded a total of three keys to 143 establishments, two keys to 572 and one key to 1,742, incorporating the first selections in almost 100 new countries around the world.
