Employees at Palma Airport have reported serious problems with the air conditioning system in Module C, which is primarily for Schengen flights.

They say the situation first arose last year and has now worsened with the arrival of hot weather. The temperature is said to be extreme. "We're suffocating inside the terminal," says one worker. "The problem started last year. We have even brought our own fans to cool down."

The problem doesn't only affect the staff. Passengers also have to endure "terrible temperatures".

Complaints have apparently been repeatedly lodged with management. "We keep complaining, but they do nothing." Only a few of the various establishments have working air conditioning, while the rest of the area is suffering from a general breakdown of the system.

The employees are demanding an urgent solution to what they consider to be unsustainable working conditions at one of Spain's busiest airports.
