Another flooding incident at Palma Airport

Related to the redevelopment work

The airports authority said passengers weren't impacted

On Friday morning around 10am, a water pipe burst and caused flooding in the baggage reclaim area at Palma Airport.

The AENA airports authority explained that the pipe broke while being rerouted. This was being done because of the redevelopment work at the airport.

The problem took about an hour to fix. The area was cordoned off and there was no impact on operations or passengers.

There have been a few incidents with flooding inside the airport dating back to last year. One in September this year was accidental - a buggy collided with a fire hydrant - another in May was in the recently renovated area near the entrance to terminal A.
