Greyish skies over Mallorca during Saturday were mainly because of dust in the atmosphere. As previously forecast, more general and heavy cloud is expected to build up overnight and into Sunday. Rain is very likely everywhere on Sunday, though Aemet suggests it will only be light. But it may well be muddy.
The wind from the northeast is expected to blow from Saturday evening into Sunday, backing north and gusting up to 60/70 km/h. Sunday is due to be mostly overcast all day. There are yellow weather alerts for the coasts. These are from 6am to midnight (north/northeast); 6am to 8pm (Tramuntana and east); 10am to 8pm (south) - waves of three metres and gusts near gale force.
The alert for the north/northeast is in place for much of Monday, which is forecast to be another cloudy and windy day with a high risk of rain. The current outlook is for an improvement from Tuesday and for temperatures climbing to 25C by Friday.
