Little change in the weather is forecast for Mallorca and much of the Balearics on Tuesday. According to the met. office, the forecast is set to worsen on Tuesday 31 March, when the storm is expected to strike with full force once again. Menorca will be under a severe wind warning from 10 am, with maximum gusts of up to 90 km/h.
At the same time, the north and north-east of Mallorca, the east coast of Mallorca and Menorca will remain under a severe coastal warning throughout the day, with north winds of 60 to 75 km/h and waves of 4 to 6 metres, as well as maximum waves that could reach between 8 and 11 metres. There could also be some showers in the Balearics, particularly in Mallorca and Menorca.
On Wednesday 1 April, the rough sea conditions will continue, although they will gradually ease throughout the day. Significant warnings for coastal phenomena will remain in place in Menorca and in the north and north-east of Mallorca until 14:59, whilst in the east of Mallorca the significant risk will end earlier, at 07:59.
During the first half of the day, north winds of 50 to 70 km/h and waves of 4 to 6 metres are still expected, with maximum heights of between 8 and 11 metres. During the day, a line of instability will lie over the Balearics, bringing rain for much of the day to Mallorca and Menorca. The authorities recommend extreme caution, particularly along the coast, on promenades, in ports and in areas exposed to the wind, as well as avoiding water sports for the duration of the episode.
