Cloud today, sunshine for Saint Patrick celebrations in Santa Ponsa tomorrow

It is rather a mixed bag for the weather this weekend in Mallorca. For those reading this away from our shores the day dawned with cloud which is expected to continue throughout the day. The good news for Saturday is that rain isn't being forecast but there are winds of up to 22km/h.

There is better news for tomorrow, Sunday, with Santa Ponsa hosting the big Saint Patrick's parade and the all-day party. The Palma Met Office is forecasting sunshine with a maximum temperature of 16 degrees.

The unsettled weather will continue into next week with more cloud but some sunshine and relatively high temperatures.

It was a cold night in many parts of the island with temperatures falling below freezing level, according to the Met Office. The minumum temperatures were: -1 Escorca, Son Torrella 1 Campos 2 Palma, University 2 Sa Pobla 3 Petra 3 Artà 4 Santa María 4 Manacor 4 Muro 4 Aerop. Palma de Mallorca 5 Pollença 5 Calvià 5 Escorca, Lluc 5 Binissalem 6 Andratx, Sant Elm.

The maximum temperatures on Friday were: 19 Palma, Portopí 19 Pollença 19 Calvià 18 Binissalem 18 Aerop. Palma de Mallorca 18 Porreres 18 Palma, Universitat 18 Andratx, Sant Elm 18 Llucmajor, Cap Blanc 18 Son Bonet, Aeropuerto 18 Llucmajor 18 Sóller, Puerto 18 Banyalbufar.
