Storm Nils wasn't with us very long, but he has been replaced by Storm Oriana; she arrived early on Friday afternoon, according to the met agency. Nils, Oriana, the name makes little difference. On Saturday there are yellow alerts for high winds in all areas of Mallorca. These are from midnight Friday until midnight Saturday; gusts in exposed areas of up to 120 km/h.
For the coasts there are yellow alerts from midnight to 3pm for the Tramuntana and the north/northeast and then amber until midnight Saturday. In the south and the east there are amber warnings until 3am, then yellow in the east until 6pm, yellow in the south until 3pm and then amber again until midnight. Waves of up to eight metres. Alerts for all the coasts are active for Sunday - currently up to 3pm at the latest (Tramuntana, north/northeast).
Otherwise on Saturday, weather stations are now suggesting it will be a mostly cloudy. But that was the forecast for Friday and there was a fair amount and very little rain. If there is rain, possibly accompanied by thunderstorms, it is most likely overnight and into the morning. Sunday, while it will still be quite windy, is forecast to be generally sunny and with negligible risk of rain.
