Yellow alerts for thunderstorms with hail are still in place for the east and the south from 3am to 10am Saturday. Weather stations across the islands are suggesting thunderstorms in the morning. There should be sunny spells but it will be quite cold as well, and there continues to be the possibility of snow at 800 or 900 metres.
The yellow warnings for the coasts on Saturday are now as follows: east and south coasts from 6am to midnight and the Tramuntana coast from 9am to 6pm. Gusts of 60 km/h and waves of three to four metres are forecast. There are further yellow alerts for the same coasts on Sunday as well as a yellow warning for high wind in the south; at present this is from 3pm to midnight. There is also the risk of thunderstorms on Sunday afternoon. There should be a reasonable amount of sun on Sunday, but it will be windy.
The wind is a factor into next week, when temperatures could rise to 20-21C by Thursday. (It was quite warm in areas on Friday.) Showers are also expected, the general outlook having improved slightly.
