It was quite warm in parts of Mallorca on Thursday - edged up to near 19C. It's possible there could be similar values on Friday, which should be generally sunny but will also be windy.
There are yellow alerts for high winds in the Tramuntana from noon to midnight and in the north/northeast from 6pm to midnight. These alerts will continue into Saturday up to 6pm and will also apply to the rest of Mallorca.
The high winds had been forecast a few days ago, a slight difference now being that weather stations are pointing to general wind speeds not being as strong as had been previously forecast. Nevertheless, gusts on Friday and Saturday may reach severe gale force in the Tramuntana and the north.
Yellow alerts are also in place for the coasts. These are from Thursday midnight in the south and from 6pm in the Tramuntana and north/northeast. Lasting until Friday midnight, these are also effective for the whole of Saturday; waves of three metres.
Temperatures are due to drop over the weekend but climb again on Monday. There is a low risk of some rain on Friday and over the next few days, but the outlook is remaining mostly sunny.
