Mallorca is gearing up for a noticeable turn in the weather as cooler air and more frequent rainfall are expected to move in. Spain’s meteorological agency, Aemet, reports that the change beginning on Monday, 24 November, follows an exceptionally cold spell on Friday the 21st that set new temperature lows in several areas, including Santa Maria, Santanyi, Son Servera, Colonia Sant Pere, and Cala Galdana. The new drop in temperatures, however, is not predicted to be as intense as last week’s event.

Monday is expected to serve as a transition day. Cloudy skies will dominate early on, later breaking into more scattered cloud cover, with the possibility of brief, light showers. Temperatures during the day should remain stable or climb slightly after Sunday’s noticeable warm-up once the Arctic air faded. Winds from the west and southwest will blow with moderate to strong strength, prompting a yellow alert for rough sea conditions along parts of the coast.

Marine warnings will be in effect for the southern coastline from 10am on Monday until 11am on Tuesday. The eastern coast will be under the same alert from 10am on the 24th through the end of the day. In the Serra de Tramuntana, a similar warning is scheduled to be active from 3am to 11am on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, 25 November, Mallorca will see shifting cloud cover paired with showers and thunderstorms, most likely forming in the northeast, though some rain may appear elsewhere during the early hours. Night-time temperatures are expected to remain steady or rise slightly, with the coolest readings arriving later in the day than usual. Daytime temperatures, however, will drop. Winds from the west will stay moderate to strong, with gusts approaching 70 km/h.

Conditions are expected to worsen on Wednesday, 26 November, as the unstable weather pattern strengthens. More scattered clouds, additional showers, and thunderstorms—again focused mainly in the northeast—are predicted. The snow line is also expected to fall sharply to around 1,000 metres. Overall temperatures will decrease, including a more pronounced drop in night-time lows. Winds will shift to the north and intensify, with gusts potentially reaching up to 80 km/h in parts of the northeast.
