The Balearics recorded the highest temperatures in Spain on Monday.
In Binissalem the high was 34.4. The usual for this time of year is 23C. Very high temperatures were recorded in much of Mallorca, the second highest having been in Santa Maria - 34C.
Other highs included 33.2C in Llucmajor and Sineu, 33.0 at the university and 27.1C at the Serra Alfabia weather station in the mountains above Bunyola.
Aemet said that the Balearics led the maximum temperatures in the whole country, with ten stations in the top ten and 22 in the top 25 nationally.
