Real Valladolid 2 - Real Mallorca 1
Could Mallorca make it three wins on the trot and continue their battle to escape relegation? Valladolid, with a play-off place to aim at, were not going to be easy.
Angeliño was close after seven minutes, but the alarm bells were soon ringing for Mallorca when De Tomás hit the post when he had an open goal to shoot at. He made up for this miss on the half hour when he went down in the area under a Yuste challenge and was awarded a penalty which he converted.
Mallorca, short of ideas, rarely looked like scoring. As they pressed forward in search of an equaliser, they were caught on the counterattack and De Tomás scored with ten minutes to go, having moments before almost added his second.
Then, more or less out of the blue and with less than one minute of normal time left, Mallorca scored, Lekic heading home Lago's cross.
Later matches saw wins for four teams involved with the relegation battle - Alcorcon, Almeria, Cordoba and Mirandes. The bottom club, Mirandes, beat Elche away, and so they move within three points of Mallorca, while Elche slip to 20th, three points above Mallorca. Nastic drew. This all left Alcorcon in 18th spot with 43 points, four more than Mallorca. Next Saturday's home game for Mallorca is against Almeria.
