Leganés 0 - Real Mallorca 0
Would the recent revival in Mallorca's fortunes continue away in Madrid against a side in a similar position in the second division, but with one noticeable difference? Leganés have scored twelve goals in the ten matches so far, while Mallorca have netted on only seven occasions. There is only side - Bilbao's B team, five places below Mallorca in 21st spot - with a worse record.
Mallorca certainly didn't seem in any hurry to try and improve this record in the first half, and Leganés weren't any better: two average teams cancelling each other out in the first 45 and creating virtually nothing.
Both sides picked things up in the second half, Brandon coming on to give Mallorca more potential goal threat and Ros being prominent and forcing a save with a header shortly before Lazaró hit the woodwork for Leganés midway through the half. With Arana going off injured almost as soon as he had got onto the pitch, it was Leganés who pressed for the winner in the final fifteen minutes but failed.
A point for Mallorca, but seven goals in eleven matches is not the performance of a side that can have aspirations of, at minimum, getting into the play-offs.
