Real Mallorca make the short trip across the sea to play Gimnastic Tarragona in the Nou Estadi on Sunday at 5 pm. For the first time in ages Mallorca coach “Chapi” Ferrer has a full squad to choose from, but there is a slight chance Brandon Thomas could miss out through injury. Whether he’ll travel to Catalonia or not will be decided after a late fitness test: it’s more likely Ferrer won’t risk the young Cala D’Or player.
After last Sunday’s lacklustre goalless draw in Palma against Numancia our goals for tally has had a bit of a spluttering start, with four games played it’s a measly two, one from a penalty, so there’s room for big improvement on the net-bulging situation. The coach suggested on Friday that he may start with Acuña and Bianchi up front. ‘Nastic have won two, drawn one and lost one and in their squad they have no fewer than five Majorcan-born players. At his weekly press conference on Friday Ferrer warned of Nastic’s counter-attacking style of play. We really need to start picking up some away points and I’ve got a feeling we may do just that.
