Crossroads of civilisations

This new proposal from the Club will allow us to connect with the more than 11,000 years of history that define Cyprus as a melting pot of civilisations influenced by the Phoenicians, Greeks, Egyptians, Persians, Romans, Byzantines... and give it a fundamental role throughout time.
The city of Nicosia is cosmopolitan, bustling and glamorous, surrounded by powerful Venetian walls and heart-shaped bastions, as well as being the only divided city in Europe. Its rural surroundings offer a landscape of orchards, olive groves and forests. A visit to the beautiful region of Paphos is a must, where you will find the most impressive natural landscapes on this Mediterranean island, with Kato Paphos declared a World Heritage Site. Legend has it that it was in Paphos that the goddess Aphrodite emerged from the waves.
Larnaca offers authenticity and a rich ancient culture: the Finikoudes Promenade, its picturesque old quarter and fresh fish taverns offer a warm welcome. It is near this city, in Choirokoitia, where we will visit a local farm that makes Halloumi cheese and olive bread in the traditional style. Our itinerary will also take us along the Troodos mountain range, the green heart of the island and an important wine-producing area, where we will taste its characteristic wines at a local winery. Finally, the vibrant city of Limassol is located next to an archaeological site of great interest between two ancient city-kingdoms, Kourion and Amathous, where we will visit its old town and medieval castle. Not to mention Strovilia, the ancient city of Salamis, and the nearby city of Famagusta, the jewel of northern Cyprus.
