A 61-year-old motorcyclist died on Wednesday morning following a collision with a car on the Molinar roundabout in Palma.
The accident occurred around 6.50am. Initial investigations indicate that a Peugeot hit the bike side-on. The impact was such that the motorcyclist was thrown from the roundabout onto the MA-19 motorway below.
Emergency services were quickly on the scene, but paramedics were unable to save him.
The driver of the car is understood to have told Guardia Civil traffic investigators that she was blinded by the sun and was unable to avoid the collision.
