Seventy-one businesses and tourism services in Mallorca have received quality distinctions under the Comprehensive Tourism Quality System in Destinations (SICTED) programme, recognising their commitment to continuous improvement, tourism excellence and sustainable practices.
In Manacor, 18 entities — including beaches, sports facilities, municipal services and tourism businesses — were awarded the distinction. The town hall said all recipients met the strict quality standards required by the SICTED system, aimed at improving visitor experience and environmental responsibility.
Recognised locations and services include the beaches of Porto Cristo, s’Illot, Es Domingos Grans, Es Domingos Petits and Estany d’en Mas, as well as the coves of Anguila, Antena, Mendia and Murada. Other award recipients included the local police force, the Rafa Nadal Museum Xperience, its associated shop, the Sports Centre, Sports Café Rafa Nadal, the Sol Romántica restaurant, the Skualo Porto Cristo diving centre and the Vela Beach Club.
Mayor Miquel Oliver said initiatives such as SICTED “represent a way of understanding tourism based on quality, institutional co-operation and a shared commitment between public authorities and the private sector”.
Across the wider Llevant region, two businesses in Artà, 14 in Capdepera, 20 in Sant Llorenç des Cardassar and 17 in Son Servera also received distinctions, highlighting the area’s broad commitment to high tourism standards.
