A cyclist sustained injuries this morning after being struck by a car on the road leading to Alcudia. The incident, occurring near Sa Pobla on the MA-13 at kilometre 41, caused traffic congestion while emergency services attended the scene.
The accident took place at around 11:00 am. The cyclist was riding towards the end of the MA-13 when a vehicle travelling along the same route collided with them under circumstances that are still under investigation.
The Guardia Civil traffic units quickly arrived to secure the area and manage the flow of vehicles as delays built up. Officers are handling inquiries to establish the cause and responsibility of the crash.
An ambulance from SAMU 061 also attended and provided initial medical care on site. The injured cyclist, who has sustained minor wounds, was subsequently taken to hospital for more detailed examinations.
