The police in Alcudia have expressed their thanks to a resident named Cristina who handed in a wallet containing 1,190 euros and personal documents that had been lost by a British couple on holiday in Puerto Alcudia.
"We want to publicly thank Cristina for her honesty, civic mindedness and exemplary attitude. Actions like this demonstrate the values of solidarity and respect that make our community great," stated the police on social media.
She came across the wallet on Wednesday and immediately contacted the police, who were able to locate the couple using the documents it contained.
The couple themselves expressed their gratitude to Cristina.
Among comments on social media was one from an Alcudia councillor, Carme Garcia. Congratulating Cristina, she added: "People like you make a better world."
