National Police officers in Palma have arrested two people on suspicion of assault and damage, for attacking healthier staff at a medical centre in Palma. Last Monday, at around 1.55 am, a person went to a medical centre claiming that they had been sprayed in the face with pepper spray.
They were accompanied by two other people, who attempted to enter the doctor’s consultation room; when refused entry, they pushed the door open and managed to get inside. Inside the office, a heated argument ensued, with the medical staff being shoved and a scuffle breaking out between everyone inside the office.
One of the doctors was shoved and kicked in the hand. Another doctor had her hair pulled and was grabbed by the neck, resulting in a broken necklace and torn clothing. The office sustained damage as a result of the scuffle, with the computer screen knocked over and the door frames torn off.
A security guard who came to the aid of the medical staff was also assaulted, receiving a bite to the forearm from one of the attackers. The officers gathered all the information, establishing that two people had actively participated in the incident—one being the patient and the other a companion—and proceeded to arrest them.
One of the arrested individuals also attacked the police officers, punching and kicking them, spitting at them and hurling insults.
