A 26-year-old British tourist died on Wednesday morning in a rented house in the Mallorca village of Santa Margalida. The victim apparently had shards of glass from a door embedded in his head. The Judicial Police team of the Guardia Civil in Pollensa has opened an investigation to try to establish the cause of the young man’s death.

The incident is believed to have taken place at around 7.30 am at a property located at number 7 Calle Luna in Santa Margalida. A British tourist was found dead with shards of glass embedded in his head. Officers from the Santa Margalida Local Police were the first to arrive at the scene and have interviewed several witnesses.

There were four men and two women in the house who had apparently consumed a large quantity of drugs, according to sources from the Local Police. The witnesses explained that they had been out partying and that when they arrived at the house they wanted to continue taking drugs and drinking alcohol. The victim was in a highly agitated state after having apparently taken a significant amount of narcotics and, according to initial theories, is believed to have died after hitting his head on a glass door.

Officers from the Judicial Police team of the Guardia Civil in Pollensa have also arrived at the scene to take charge of the investigation into the incident. The death has been reported to the duty court in Inca. The post-mortem examination to be carried out on the body in the coming hours will determine the exact cause of death.
