Six people were injured in a five-vehicle collision on the Llucmajor road (MA-19) in Palma on Tuesday afternoon.
The accident occurred around 5pm. The collisions were all rear end. A taxi came to rest sideways across the road near the Son Oms Industrial Park, completely blocking traffic.
Guardia Civil patrols were quickly on the scene, but because of the positions of the vehicles, it was impossible to reopen the road until they were removed, leaving drivers stranded for over an hour.
None of the six people sustained serious injuries, but they were all taken to hospital - two to the Clinica Rotger, two to the Clinica Juaneda and two to the Son Llàtzer Hospital.
