While it appears that foreigners continue to snap up the high end properties in Mallorca and the housing crisis continues to top the list of the general public’s concerns, there are some property bargain to be had in paradise.

According to the latest data from leading property platform idealista for February 2026, Sa Pobla ranks as the most affordable town in Mallorca for buying a home, with an average price of €2,487 per square metre. “Located in the north of the island, in the Raiguer region, it stands out for its traditional Mallorcan character and its agricultural areas.

“Its proximity to the Serra de Tramuntana and the beaches of Alcúdia Bay makes it an attractive option for many. With around 15,000 inhabitants, it has a railway station, a full range of amenities and a stable population.” The platform goes on to highlight the facts that Sa Pobla is a Mallorcan municipality offering tradition, heritage and natural surroundings.

These are the main points of interest in the town:
Plaza Mayor: The heart of the town, surrounded by bars and cafés, ideal for sitting on a terrace and soaking up the local atmosphere. Church of Sant Antoni: The municipality’s main church, a religious and cultural landmark linked to the most important festivals. Can Planes Museum: An exhibition space dedicated to contemporary art and local culture, housed in a traditional manor house. Sant Antoni Festival: An iconic popular celebration featuring dimonis, foguerons and music. It takes place in January.

Living in Sa Pobla means enjoying a more relaxed atmosphere than in the more touristy coastal areas. Daily life is peaceful, with local shops, weekly markets and a community deeply rooted in its traditions.
Furthermore, its strategic location means the beaches of Alcudia and Muro, as well as the motorway connecting to Palma, are just a few minutes’ drive away. This makes it easy to combine the quiet life of a village with the work and leisure opportunities found in other parts of the island.

Although prices on Mallorca are generally high, there are still towns where buying a home is somewhat more affordable. These are some of the most affordable towns to live in on the island:
Sa Pobla – €2,487/m²: The most affordable town, well-connected and with a full range of amenities, ideal for those seeking peace and quiet near the north of the island.
Felanitx – €2,560/m²: Located in the south-east, it stands out for its wine-making tradition and its proximity to the coast at Portocolom. It offers spacious homes and a more rural setting.
Inca – €2,591/m²: Known as the capital of the Raiguer, it is one of the largest towns in the interior. It boasts excellent transport links and a wide range of shops and schools.
