Another police force in Mallorca is at loggerheads with a town hall. As well as the well-publicised issues in Palma, there are ongoing problems in Muro. And now the police in Pollensa are at a standoff with the town hall over what they claim is legal uncertainty and mismanagement.

At an assembly of officers earlier week, there was unanimous approval to cease working overtime. This came into effect on Wednesday and therefore coincides with the Easter period and when reinforcements are needed for the processions and other events.

The police say they will not participate in any negotiations until there is town hall approval of a series of measures they consider essential.

These include the payment of outstanding supplements related to professional development, the reorganisation of salary supplements, and the review of certain teleworking arrangements.
