Club de Mar officially opened on Monday, marking a key addition to the redevelopment of Palma's Paseo Marítimo and enhancing public access to the bay and Mediterranean views. The complex, comprising four buildings linked by new walkways, establishes a connection between the cruise terminal, the promenade and the city.

The inauguration ceremony, attended by over 200 people and including a ribbon-cutting by local authorities, highlights the growing interest in this new maritime facility. Several commercial units are already operating, hosting brands such as Majórica and swimwear retailers. Soon, the Grupo Azotea restaurant and the Mar Salada nightclub will open, expanding the leisure and dining options along the waterfront.

Addressing attendees, Club de Mar president Borja de la Rosa said the project "connects the cruise station with the Paseo Marítimo via the Club de Mar's walkways" and credited collaborative efforts between institutions and Club partners for "modernising this privileged environment." He emphasised the ambition to position the Balearics "at the forefront of the Mediterranean nautical sector," with over 500 berths accommodating everything from social boating vessels up to eight metres in length to larger yachts expected to boost Palma's wealth and prosperity. He added that "the blue economy forms part of the productive model."

The four buildings, named after local winds Tramuntana, Migjorn, Ponent and Llevant, provide 3,000 square metres of new space which includes 300 square metres of vertical gardens.

Javier Sanz, president of the Balearic Port Authority (APB), described this port infrastructure as "a milestone for the city and the entire country," highlighting it as "one of the largest investments nationwide open to the public." He noted that the Club de Mar complements ongoing transformations at both the Paseo Marítimo and Palma port, stressing a vision of "a port connected to its citizens and a port-city model." According to Sanz, "the Club de Mar responds with an ambitious, long-term investment that strengthens Palma port's international positioning."

Palma's mayor Jaime Martínez emphasised the Club's role "as a civic space and economic driver, offering extraordinary leisure options that elevate Palma's prestige." He noted the Club de Mar is "prepared for a new city model involving public administration and private sector collaboration." Martínez also referenced the launch of Palma Culture Innovation Bay, which integrates technology, economy, culture and the blue economy, where the Club de Mar plays a key role as the city opens itself both to the sea and the mountains.
