The history of the Gabellí estate in Campanet can be traced back to the pre-Roman Talayotic Culture. Many centuries later, from the 15th century in fact, the estate became the possession of the Bennàsser family. They were descendants of a Muslim lord who had converted to Christianity and cooperated with King Jaume I during the conquest of 1229.

Gabellí Gran was one part of the large estate. The house on this finca included its own chapel. The grounds have an olive grove and a vineyard. In 2013, it was acquired by an Irish investor who used to cycle past the estate located off the Campanet-Pollença road.

Three years ago, it was listed for sale at a price of €7.5 million, the owner having intended to turn the historic property, a listed building in Campanet's catalogue of heritage assets, into a five-star hotel. Some months later, it was taken off the market.

In 2023, the estate's manager explained that the initial planned additional investment of between €2 and €2.5 million had ballooned due to inflation. They had waited years for the permit, but ultimately "the bureaucracy made him lose interest".

The property is now back on the market, the price having more than doubled to €16 million. The chapel is said to make it attractive for a luxury wedding tourism market, while the location in the Gabellí estate means that it is close to the protected natural monument of the Fonts Ufanes springs.

The licence for the conversion is still valid, the property having 28 rooms. There are 72 hectares of land.
