A 38-year-old Spanish motorcyclist died on Saturday morning after being involved in a road accident with a car on Indalecio Prieto Street, one of the main roads leading to the Son Gotleu neighbourhood in Palma. The accident took place near number 50, opposite the Rafal Vell Primary School. The man went into cardiac arrest and, despite attempts to resuscitate him, it was not possible to revive him.

The incident took place early in the morning, at around 8.30 am, when the 112 Emergency Services received a report of a motorcycle-car collision in Palma. The motorbike became wedged under the vehicle following the impact. Following the accident, the motorcyclist suffered a cardiac arrest; as a result, the necessary ambulance services were quickly mobilised.

Within minutes, an Advanced Life Support ambulance, a logistics vehicle and a command vehicle arrived at the scene, according to the Samu 061. Paramedics treated the injured man, who was in a very serious condition.

Unfortunately, despite efforts to save his life, it was not possible to resuscitate him and the patient died at the scene.

Meanwhile, the driver of the car involved was taken to a medical centre after suffering from anxiety. She also underwent the relevant tests and tested negative for both alcohol and drugs.
