A small fire erupted this Tuesday morning on the rooftop of IES Manacor, setting off alarms among students and staff at the secondary school located in Manacor. The blaze originated from a malfunction in a switch within the solar panel system installed on the roof. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.

The smoke, described as dense and white, was visible to those inside the school and to nearby residents, prompting several emergency calls to the 112 emergency number. In response, local authorities dispatched multiple units of local police as well as the fire brigade.

Upon arriving, firefighters found that the staff at the school had already managed to put out the flames using on-site fire extinguishers. Although the fire had been controlled, fire crews conducted a comprehensive inspection of the electrical installation to confirm there were no ongoing hazards before leaving.

Representatives from the local police confirmed that at no point was there a significant threat to the physical safety of students or teaching personnel. Following a brief period of heightened alert, classes resumed as normal without further incident.
