Palma police are investigating the strange case of a British couple who allegedly attempted to kidnap an elderly Spanish lady in the Palma surburb of Son Ferriol on Sunday. According to police the elderly lady was waiting on the pavement when a car stopped alongside her.
A man got out and allegedly pushed her to the ground and it appeared that he was trying to push the lady into the car. Then a woman also left the vehicle and attempted to pull the lady along the ground towards the vehicle.
The cries for help from the lady brought out her family and neighbours, as she lived nearby, and her partner managed to fight off the alleged kidnap attempt by the British couple.
The police were also called and various National Police units headed to the area. The British couple had fled the scene but they were arrested hours later.
This morning they were being questioned by police detectives and they will then to taken to a judge who will examine the case and the evidence.
