Palma’s Paseo Maritimo nightlife scene is set to gain a new addition this summer with the reopening of Social Club in a different location. The venue will feature a flamenco tablao, dance performances, indie vinyl sessions, tapas and cocktails. The club is currently completing renovations at the former Victoria nightclub beneath the Hotel Melià Victoria, a move seen as an important step in reviving evening entertainment along the waterfront.

Social Club closed in April 2024 after the expropriation of its previous premises, which were demolished to make way for a new green space and the removal of the old Mediterranean Hotel bridge as part of the wider refurbishment of Paseo Marítimo. Although the closure was contested by the club’s operators, they later secured a nearby venue. Its website now promotes “a new era, a new space, opening this summer”, and table reservations are already available.

The new venue will feature a spacious layout divided into several areas designed to cater to different audiences. The main room, known as the “Sala Principal”, will serve as the centre of the club’s nightlife activity. There will also be a second room, “Sala 2”, intended for more exclusive gatherings, alongside a cocktail bar and a VIP lounge with bespoke décor, dedicated table service and private bathrooms.

Throughout the summer the club plans to host a line-up of DJs, beginning on Friday 5 June with a residency by Cirque le Soir, the London nightclub from Carnaby Street. The collaboration is expected to combine music with theatrical entertainment, including performances by dancers and other artists. VIP seating will start from 500 euros, with table bookings already open.

Among the venue’s attractions is Ritual, a flamenco show offering traditional Spanish menus made with locally sourced ingredients. The club also plans to host immersive experiences such as flamenco classes and workshops. Another space, the Vinyl Lounge, will centre on cocktail culture paired with carefully curated vintage music selections.

Situated beneath the Gran Melià Victoria Hotel, the club aims to help revitalise nightlife on Paseo Maritimo as the area continues to evolve. Its reopening follows the closure of the nearby Lío nightclub, part of the Pachá group, which shut after two seasons. Social Club’s website promises “world-class DJs, bold lighting and immersive sound in a meticulously crafted environment”, positioning the venue as a new focal point for Palma’s late-night entertainment.
