A fire broke out on Friday afternoon in an apartment kitchen in Alcudia, prompting a precautionary evacuation of several residents in the Mississippi building on Estany Rodó street. The swift response from the local police and firefighters prevented the blaze from spreading, and no injuries were reported.

According to official sources, the incident occurred at around 5pm when multiple residents noticed flames coming from one of the apartments in the building. They promptly alerted emergency services via the 112 hotline. Due to thick smoke emanating from the kitchen, authorities decided to evacuate neighbouring flats as a safety measure, prioritising residents' security while emergency teams tackled the fire.

Firefighters arrived quickly and managed to extinguish the flames within minutes, containing the damage strictly to the kitchen. This rapid intervention avoided structural damage or risk to other floors in the block. The Policía Local de Alcúdia later expressed their gratitude on social media towards the emergency teams involved and praised the residents for their cooperation during the evacuation.
