Porsche, the renowned German automaker part of the Volkswagen Group, has secured the entire Hipotels Playa de Palma Palace hotel in Playa de Palma, to host a corporate event spanning just over two months. This initiative aims to introduce their latest model, the fully electric Cayenne, with the vehicle currently displayed outside the hotel’s conference centre.
The event commenced in late February and is scheduled to continue until 26 April. Porsche has booked all 227 rooms of this five-star establishment to accommodate hundreds of staff visiting in staggered groups typically staying between two and four days. Attendees come from various European branches of the company.
This corporate gathering brings together a diverse mix of Porsche employees, including executives, mechanics and sales personnel, to familiarise them with the new electric SUV while promoting collaboration. "The event includes technical sessions at the conference centre and driving tests on Mallorca’s roads," organisers explain, highlighting the practical evaluations on routes around the Serra de Tramuntana and coastal areas—locations that are especially valued for testing performance models in this season.
Technical briefings and test drives underline event activities
Participants receive detailed instruction on the vehicle’s 800-volt architecture, the ultrafast charging system capable of replenishing 10% to 80% battery capacity in approximately 15 minutes, and the updated digital interface. While the electric Cayenne has already been officially unveiled globally, Porsche uses this event to display prototypes with special camouflage or configurations not yet available in showrooms.
The company has recently opened orders for the new model, with prices starting at €108,000 for the base version and rising to €130,000 for higher specifications. Throughout the event’s duration, sessions also focus on educating staff about the technological innovations that define this new addition to Porsche’s lineup.
