An EMT bus in Palma deliberately collided with a taxi on Wednesday around 2:38pm near the Plaza España stop, resulting in injuries to the taxi driver. The bus involved was operating on line number 19, which connects the Universitat de les Illes Balears (UIB) and Parc Bit with Porta des Camp.
The incident took place as the taxi was stationary, with all four indicators flashing, just a few metres from the EMT bus stop. The taxi driver was outside the vehicle and preparing to get in when the bus resumed its journey and struck the taxi.
According to authorities, the taxi driver sustained injuries during the collision. Officers from the Palma Local Police were promptly alerted and dispatched to the scene to carry out an investigation. A rear-facing camera from another vehicle captured the moment of impact, with the footage handed over to police. The images have been included in the official police report regarding the event.
