A French woman was seriously injured on Friday when the quad she was riding was hit by a car in Arenal.
The accident occurred at around 4.30pm, the two vehicles ending up by construction work at the intersection of Avda. Miramar and C. San Cristóbal. The woman suffered a broken leg and was obviously in considerable pain.
According to Llucmajor Police, the car, with three occupants, was travelling at speed when a group on quad bikes emerged.
The driver swerved and managed to avoid an initial collision but then hit another of the riders. The police are investigating whether the quad bikes ran a stop sign.
The driver tested negative for alcohol. Paramedics stabilised the woman, who was then taken to hospital.
