A cyclist said to be in his fifties died on Saturday morning after being hit by a car on the old Palma-Inca road (MA-13A) between Santa Maria and Consell.
The accident occurred around quarter to eleven for reasons as yet unknown; the Guardia Civil's Traffic Division is in charge of the investigation.
The cyclist was riding a mountain bike and is understood not to have been carrying documentation.
Medics who went to the scene were unable to do anything to save his life.
