The Fundació Castell d’Alaró (Alaro Castle Foundation) has opened the tendering process to award the management of the guesthouse at the castle. The multi-year concession includes responsibility for the guesthouse, with a maximum capacity of thirty beds, as well as the restaurant and bar service, in addition to collaborating in the cultural and heritage promotion of the space.
It also includes cleaning and maintenance tasks. It should be noted that the current manager of the castle, Natxo Bou, will be stepping down next March after fourteen years at the helm of the guesthouse. The tender is being processed electronically through the Public Sector Contracting Platform and the deadline for submitting bids is 3 March. The specifications state that the service must be open every day of the year and customer service hours must be from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.
The concession will involve the payment of a minimum fee of 2,000 euros per quarter plus VAT, which bidders may increase in their bids. The management of the service will be carried out at the risk and expense of the successful bidder, who will also be responsible for cleaning, routine maintenance of the facilities, waste management and care of the energy and environmental infrastructure of the space.
With this call for tenders, the Castell d’Alaró Foundation aims to ensure professional, sustainable management that respects the castle’s heritage and natural environment, guaranteeing a quality service for visitors and the preservation of a landmark for the municipality and the island.
