The Epstein documents point to a number of prominent figures with ties to Mallorca. The most notable among them is Sir Richard Branson.

Emails between the two relate to the period 2012-2013. Both owned private islands in the Caribbean, and they invited each other to visit. In one exchange, Branson says it was "really nice" to see him, adding "Any time you're in the area would love to see you. As long as you bring your harem!"

The BBC have reported on these exchanges. "The Virgin Group have clarified that 'harem' referred to three adult members of Epstein's team". The statement continues by explaining that Branson's contact with Epstein was "only a few occasions more than twelve years ago, and was limited to group or business settings, such as a charity tennis event".

"When Epstein offered a charity donation, the Bransons asked their team to carry out due diligence before accepting the donation, which uncovered serious allegations.

"As a result of what the due diligence uncovered, Virgin Unite did not take the donation and Richard and Joan decided not to meet or speak with Epstein again. Had they had the full picture and information, there would have been no contact whatsoever – Richard believes that Epstein's actions were abhorrent and supports the right to justice for his many victims."

Another British connection concerns the Reuben brothers, who have significant land holdings in Mallorca. Epstein mentions to his associates that one of the two brothers has requested a visit and asks them to find out more about him before the meeting, which would have taken place in 2010.

The close relationship between Epstein and American businessman Les Wexner has been well chronicled. The founder of Bath & Body Works Inc., brands he controlled included Victoria's Secret (it was spun off in 2021). In the mid-1990s, Epstein mispresented himself as a recruiter for Victoria's Secret; cases were brought against him for assault. Last month, Wexner was subpoenaed by the US House Oversight Committee.

His yacht, the Limitless, almost 100 metres long, frequently visits Mallorca; its maintenance is regularly carried out by the island's shipyards.
