A man has been arrested by the National Police in Palma for drugging and raping five women. The arrested man, aged 34 and of Spanish nationality, also took sexual photographs of one of the victims when she was a minor. The attacker, who is accused of sexual assault, abuse and pornography, has been remanded in custody by order of the judicial authorities.

The Family and Women's Care Unit (UFAM) arrested the man last Wednesday. The investigation began several weeks ago after two women filed complaints.

One of them explained that years ago a man had drugged her in order to rape her and that three other victims wanted to file complaints. The other victim told investigators that she had been in a romantic relationship with the man and that he had psychologically abused her.

The police contacted the other young women, and two of them reported that on one occasion they woke up naked in the attacker's bed, bruised and with no memory of what had happened. A fifth victim, who had a relationship with the alleged attacker when she was a minor, told UFAM officers that she suffered psychological abuse and sexual assault at the hands of the man.

The woman added that when she was a minor, the alleged assailant recorded a video of himself having sex with her and that she believes he may have more images. The five victims showed investigators photographs of conversations with the assailant and evidence that could prove what had happened over the last few years.
