A 76-year-old woman died on Tuesday evening after falling from the eleventh floor of an apartment building in the Foners district of Palma.
The incident occurred around 7.45 at the building on C. Joan Alcover where the woman lived. Several neighbours apparently witnessed the awful event.
She fell into the inner courtyard. Emergency services were swiftly on the scene, where she was pronounced dead. The Palma Police's Immediate Intervention Unit (UII) was the first to arrive at the scene; the case was then transferred to the National Police.
Information gathered by the homicide squad, in charge of the investigation, points to likely suicide.
