A 59-year-old German man, Ronald B., passed away on January 3, having spent over 13 months in a coma at Son Espases Hospital.

Around 3am on November 30, 2024, he was returning home after a Christmas dinner when he was suddenly attacked by two 17-year-old Spanish youths as he walked along C. Manacor near to the Wifi Park in Palma.

He was repeatedly beaten until he lost consciousness. Investigators concluded that his attackers then continued to beat him so as to impress some girls who witnessed the assault.

His phone and ID were stolen. The National Police were able to trace the phone to streets neighbouring Son Gotleu. Officers arrested the two. They were placed in a juvenile detention centre and were released some six months ago.

Ronald B. lived and worked in Mallorca. His friends continue to raise funds for his family in order to provide financial assistance, cover living expenses, and offer "security and some stability".
