An EasyJet flight travelling from London Gatwick to Palma raised the alarm on Sunday night after a passenger suffered a medical emergency on board. According to the specialist account @controladores, the cabin crew reported that the individual was experiencing symptoms consistent with a possible case of angina.
Emergency procedures were immediately activated to ensure rapid assistance upon landing. Air traffic control centres operated by Enaire in Barcelona and Palma coordinated with the control tower at Palma Airport to prioritise the aircraft’s approach. To minimise taxiing time, runway 24R was assigned instead of the originally planned 24L.
Medical services were also placed on standby. Once on the ground, the passenger was disembarked and given initial medical treatment before being transferred to a hospital in Palma for further examination and stabilisation.
